Halloween Movies
I am a GIANT Halloween junkie. It's my favorite holiday and I decorate and dress up and drive everyone around me insane with Halloween crap. But of course, I am also deeply into Halloween movies. My top movie is "The Nightmare before Christmas"because I can throw it on and watch it non-stop through till Christmas. It's a bi-holiday film and it's wonderful. I also really love "Hocus Pocus" because I have an odd obsession with the Salem witch trials. The only paper I have ever gotten an A+ on was on the Salem witch trials.
Generally, I lean more to the silly, goofy Halloween movies more then the super scary, gruesome stuff. I first watched "Poltergeist" at age 7 and let's just say, it left an impression. This year I have been eying "Paranormal Activity 2" but I have to admit I never saw the first one. I have seen the "Blair Witch Project" and I laughed through the whole thing. So what are you're favorite Halloween movie? Do you need to be scared or just a little spooked?

Just cause you're Awesome, have a cupcake!
I know it's been a million years since we handed out a cupcake. But you know what they say about too much of a good thing. Anywho, the cupcake is back and ready for action and this week the cupcake goes to John C. Reilly. You know who he is, he's that guy from that movie that you love but who's name you cannot remember. He is awesome. He makes you laugh and he can make you cry. He sings. He's like a big over grown man-child who you kinda wish was your uncle instead of the guy that is your uncle. We loved him in Talladega Nights and feared him in Gangs of New York (yeah, that was him). He's been around for over 20 years and if there is a god, he'll be around for 20 more. So here's to you Mr. John C. Reilly, I love you. Have a cupcake!

Hey aren't you the dad from Twilight?
NO! He's not. He is the Mike from the 1998 classic Can't Hardly Wait and I swear that if I hear one more tween hipster ask this question someone will die. I am beyond happy that Peter Facinelli's star is rising. He has been around since 1995 and appeared in dozens of movies/ shows. My heart just breaks a little when a very talented person gets recognized for a absolutely horrible movie. It hurts my heart. He is amazing in Show Times Nurse Jackie. Why can't he get props for that? That is talent. I love Vampires, I really do but it seems that anyone rockin' fangs gets attention and it's sad. Robert Pattinson doesn't shower. He SMELLS. Yeah I said it. You wanna fight me? Bring it! And here is a clip from Can't Hardly Wait:

Happy Birthday! Have a Cupcake!!!

Chris Pine gets the cupcake this week for being Chris Pine. And because it's his Birthday. And also because his new movie, "The Carriers," (A movie about a group friends who try in vain to out run a super virus) is being pooped on. It was set to release this weekend but its being shoved back and only released in non-major cities. I saw the trailer and it gave me nightmares. So Mr. Pine gets the cupcake for his 29th birthday. I have given him a Star Trek cupcake which was made by Junk over at Happy Little Cupcakes. This blog is super fun and creative so make sure you take a look.

Bon Appetit!

Just saw Julie&Julia. Awesome, funny, heart warming and really cute. I really enjoyed it and so did the rest of the audience. Everyone clapped at the end. Meryl Streep is AMAZING!!! It is long at 2 hours and 3 mins so brace your selves and hit the bathroom before because you do not want to miss a bit of it. And just a warning you will be hungry after seeing this movie.

Goodbye John Hughes

John Hughes died this morning of a heart attack while visiting family in NYC. Hughes wrote and directed some of the most popular movies of the 80's including my personal favorite The Breakfast Club. He will be missed but his films will live on. Our condolences go out to the Hughes family. To read more on Hughes and his films click here.
Also Please take a second and vote for your favorite Hughes movie.

The Baster

A new comedy called "The Baster" has been filming in my neighborhood for the past three weeks. Even though they are mostly filming on Riverside, all the trailers are parked on Broadway including Jason Batemans trailers right on my block. I have also have seen Patrick Wilson walking to his trailer. IMDB has him listed as rumored to be in this movie. I guess I just confirmed it! I find it interesting how they attempt to hide who is in which trailer. Batemans is listed as Wally, his characters name and so is Wilsons. In an effort to hide Jennifer Anistons trailer they have left it blank. Which means if you walk around with a cast list you will find everyone accounted for and duduce that they black trailer is hers. Its parked across the street next to my diner.
Apperntly Jeff Goldblume is in this movie too but I have not seen him yet. The Baster is a Comedy about a women who decided to artifically inseminate herself ... with a turkey baster in order to have a baby. (Does that freak you out a little?) 7 years later she finds out that her best friend, (Bateman) switched the doner sperm with his. You can almost spell the failure comming off this movie. Oh and P.S. Bateman does not turn his light off when he leaves his trailer. Way to care about the enviorment.
